Harvard has released a radical proposal to fix America's broken democracy.Researchers suggest Congress needs to pass legislation reducing the size of Washington, D.C. to just a few core federal buildings and declaring its 127 neighborhoods as states. These new states would add enough votes for Congress to rewrite the Constitution in a way that 'every vote counts equally' by ratifying four amendments. The plan entails equal representation in both the Senate and the House, replacing the Electoral College with a popular vote and modifying 'the Constitution's amendment process that would ensure future amendments are ratified by states representing most Americans.' The authors of the proposal suggest dividing D.C.

On Thursday, President Trump spoke to reporters who were asking him about Lev Parnas, an associate of Rudy Giuliani who claims Trump was aware of efforts to get information about rival presidential candidates. In the process, CNN’s Jim Acosta, as per his usual style, kept interrupting Trump, at which point Trump looked at him and shut him down, saying sternly, “Quiet.” Acosta asked, “What is your response to what Parnas who says that your efforts in Ukraine, that you just wanted Joe Biden out? What’s your response?” Trump responded, “Well, I don’t know him; I don’t know Parnas other than I guess they had pictures taken, which I do

Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), the Ranking Member of the Appropriations Committee adamantly opposed Senate impeachment witnesses during former President Bill Clinton’s impeachment trial, declaring that the trial was “not a make-up exam for an incomplete inquiry by the House.”Leahy, who escorted Chief Justice Roberts to the Senate on Thursday, opposed the proposition of witnesses in the Senate impeachment trial of Clinton, contending that the inquiry conducted by the House should have sufficed.“Witnesses would not fill the holes in the Managers’ case. The Managers only became interested in hearing from witnesses once they faced trouble obtaining a conviction in the Senate,” he said at the time.

The same woke Left that canceled a scientist for an edgy t-shirt and jumped to smear teenage Trump supporters from Covington Catholic as racists has yet to cancel 2020 Democratic candidate Michael Bloomberg, who actually deserves it. Apparently, there are different standards for left-wing billionaires who pour their money into anti-Second Amendment advocacy and other liberal causes. And the double-standard really is stunning. Mike Bloomberg is getting away with not just a blatant history chock full of sexism, but most on the Left have overlooked his ongoing efforts to silence women who want to criticize his sexism. Only a few figures, such as Elizabeth Warren and conservative The View host

Lev Parnas, whom Democrats now cite as a potential witness in the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump, actually undermined their case against the president in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper that aired Thursday morning. President Trump is accused of having withheld U.S. aid to pressure Ukraine to conduct an investigation into past election interference; and into allegations of wrongdoing by former Vice President Joe Biden and his son, Hunter Biden, who was paid a fortune to sit on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian fossil fuel company widely viewed as being corrupt. For months, Democrats have claimed that President Trump was not interested in an actual investigation,

Gov. Chris Sununu called for the resignation Thursday of Merrimack County Sheriff Scott Hilliard, who was found guilty this week of drunken driving. “The sheriff has been convicted of a serious crime and should resign immediately,” the governor said in a statement. (Snip) Although his arrest was later deemed unlawful since a warrant was not obtained, this did not invalidate the consent Hilliard provided to test his blood. In a 1958 interview with Mike Wallace, Aldous Leonard Huxley, British writer and philosopher, discussed the power of technology, drugs, and propaganda as formidable methods of indoctrination. He talked about Hitler who used the press and radio very effectively to brainwash an entire nation to accept the evil that followed. He explained to Wallace: “… a piece of very recent and very painful history is the propaganda used by Hitler, which was incredibly effective. I mean, what were Hitler’s methods? Hitler used terror on the one kind, brute force on the one hand, but he also used a very efficient form of propaganda which …he was using every modern device at that time. Text added.*

Justice Department officials are investigating a years-old classified Russian intelligence document leak and whether former F.B.I director James Comey was the person who illegally provided reporters with information, The New York Times reports. The probe is the second time federal officials have a looked into Comey regarding leaked information. The former FBI head has been frequently labeled a "leaker" by President Trump. What makes this investigation abnormal, though, is that federal prosecutors usually investigate leaks when classified information is reported by the press, not years after the fact, (Snip)Sources close familiar with the situation told the paper that prosecutors, in particular, are looking into two articles that were written by

Democrats are suddenly obsessed with Lev Parnas, the Rudy Giuliani associate who was indicted on federal campaign charges last fall. The Ukrainian-born Parnas was a gopher for Giuliani, President Donald Trump’s personal lawyer, who wanted to investigate possible leads in preparing a defense against charges of Russia collusion. Parnas agreed to testify during the House impeachment inquiry, and a federal judge let him hand over documents and text messages last week. But it is not clear Parnas has anything to offer. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) is dumping documents, and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow did her best in an interview with Parnas on Wednesday evening.

The Trump administration is moving to strengthen constitutional prayer by extending protections for students who want to pray in public schools. On Thursday, President Trump said the government must never stand between the people and God. He added students are frequently stopped from praying in schools.(Tweet/Video) The new protections will require schools to certify they have no rules conflicting with a student’s right to pray and notify the Education Department of complaints against the right to pray. This marked the first time the Department of Education has updated its guidance on school prayer since 2003. “Today, my administration is issuing strong new guidance to protect religious liberty in our public schools,”

In a bid to solidify his evangelical base, President Donald Trump took steps Thursday to give religious organizations easier access to federal programs and he reaffirmed students' rights to pray in public schools.Under orders from Trump, nine Cabinet departments proposed rules intended to remove “regulatory burdens” on religious organizations participating in federal programs by eliminating a requirement that they refer people to alternative providers upon request. Much of that follows through on an executive order Trump from 2018 that aims to put religious groups on equal footing when competing for federal grants and other funding.

Not only did Nancy Pelosi have commemorative (totally sober) impeachment pens made and carried in on silver trays for her to sign (one interminably long letter at a time while smiling like prom queen), but the pens look like a high-caliber rifle bullets. Think that was accidental? In case there's any doubt, here are some images of actual rifle rounds for comparison. Turbosquid.com sells sniper rifle .408 Chey Tac rounds that look pretty close.

A scrupulous reader of the New York Times editorial board’s interview with Senator Elizabeth Warren is likely to come away from it with at least one nagging conclusion: She doesn’t think you’re very bright. American commitments in the Middle East are of particular relevance given recent events in the region, the most urgent of which from the American perspective
